HAMILTON, ON August, 2026 Rainbow’s End Community Development Corporation is proud to announce it has been awarded a capital grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). This provincial funding enables the Hamilton-based non-profit to purchase a modern, highly adaptable landscaping vehicle. The new
acquisition will significantly enhance the operations of its social enterprise landscaping program
, Mow-Town, ensuring the organization can continue providing essential employment and skills training for individuals living with mental illness.
The newly acquired truck directly replaces the oldest vehicle in the fleet, a 2008 Dodge Ram, which has served as a dependable work vehicle for nearly two decades. The replacement vehicle introduces necessary modern capabilities, providing the safety, power, and versatility required to handle specialized light construction and rigorous winter snow clearing tasks.
“The impact of this Ontario Trillium Foundation grant cannot be overstated,” said David Williams, Executive Director of Rainbow’s End Community Development. “Upgrading our fleet allows us to secure more robust commercial contracts, such as year-round property maintenance and snow removal. Most importantly, it ensures our crews are trained on the type of modern machinery they will encounter in competitive workforce careers, opening up new pathways to long-term stability and success.”
By transitioning to an adaptable, modern vehicle, Mow-Town crews can safely undergo on-the-job training for complex property cleanups, hardscape construction, and winter maintenance. This investment ensures that Rainbow’s End can continue fulfilling its core mission: breaking down employment barriers and fostering dignity, community, and economic independence for people navigating mental health challenges.
